Bunch training rides

Tuesday - Friday
We ride with the Devonport Xpressos. Join either of the Slower/Medium paced bunches. See Devo Xpresso page on Multisport Training home for more information.

Saturday
* The (unofficial) Multisport Bikes Ride!

Meet us on the corner of Hurstmere Rd by Portofino at 7:00am. We do a loop around Lake Pupuke, along to Hauraki and around Devonport before heading back to Takapuna for a morning coffee thanks to the crew at Latin Larder. Ride is approx 25km, average pace of 25-26km/h - nice and cruisey!

*Waterfront Bunch
Meets at the bus stop outside Mikanos on Tamaki Drive at 8am, after the 7am time trial. An average - fast paced ride, (depends upon who shows up to push the pace), consisting of a loop along the waterfront, through to Pakuranga, Manukau, Mangere and back through Newmarket. Ride is around 70km at a comfortable 29-32km/h on this relatively flat-ish course. Friendly group but bunch skills recommended as roads are often busy.

Sunday
* The Seven o'clock Bunch
Leaves from top of Albany hill, past the BP station and carpark, starting at the Pet Cemetery. A large mixed bunch, including mid to advanced fitness levels and bike skills. The bunch's average pace varies and has its fair share of surging. Average speed is around 31k/h, including hills. Guaranteed stop at the Kumeu Bakehouse for coffee and a feed, arrives there around 9am.

* The Quarter-to-Sevens
Meets at the top of Albany at 6.45am. Course can vary,will often head out on a similar route to the Seven o'clock Bunch, but at a more relaxed pace. Bakehouse stop also included, arrives there around 9.15ish.

* Albany Roosters
Leaves from top of Albany hill, past the BP station and carpark, starting at the Pet Cemetery. A smaller bunch, including mid to advanced fitness levels and bike skills. The bunch's average pace varies but is generally around 28km/h. Always stops at the Kumeu Bakehouse for coffee and a feed. Friendly bunch who tend to wait for people to catch back on if they drop over the hills.

* The Gentlemen's Ride
Leaves from the Buffet House along East Coast Bays Road, by lights just past Rangitoto College, at 7am. Ride goes for 3-4 hours on the route decided in a friendly group argument beforehand. Please note this is NOT a racer's ride, hence the name - and although entitled 'the gentlemen's ride' women are most welcome!

* The Royal Oak Ride
Meets at the Royal Oak roundabout at 0800. Average to fast pace, with a rebel reputation for running through lights! With a dedicated following who guesstimate the average speed to be around 27-30km/h.
