Whether you're a competitive cyclist or just keen to improve your fitness and try something new, North Harbour Cycling Club provides support, coaching and a variety of events to ensure you'll enjoy cycling and experience all it has to offer.

Formed in 1984, the club aims to promote the sport of cycling both on the road and track, to support cyclists in their endeavurs and to provide interesting and challenging events to suit all ages and abilities during the year.� And yes, triathletes are welcome!

Throughout the year NHCC offers a wide range of training and racing opportunities.

NHCC Criterium Series
These popular crits are back for another year! Held out at the North Harbour Stadium in Albany , these racers offer fast and furious racing around the 1.1km circuit. An ideal way to develop racing speed and fitness while developing your race skills on a closed safe road. First half of the series runs form 9 October - 11 December. Series resumes after Christmas / New Years break.

The Criteriums are run on a Tuesday evening with four grades on offer:
6.00 p.m. Novices
6.15 p.m. C Grade
6.35 p.m. B Grade
7.00 p.m. A Grade


Windtraining
During the winter months NHCC runs an Indoor Spinning Session, a great way to maintain fitness and spend time with other cyclists without getting cold and wet. Wintery Wednesday evenings at 11 Woodson Place , Glenfield. Participants should bring a wind trainer, towel, a drink, and a sense of humour. Costs a mere $2!� WINDTRAINING HAS FINISHED FOR THE 2007 SEASON.


Track Cycling
The track season kicks off from October through to March, with the Auckland Centre based out of the Manukau Velodrome. Track cycling is an excellent way of improving basic cycling skills as well as providing exciting and challenging racing. There are track bikes are available for hire throughout the season for a small fee and coaching is provided across all grades.


Road Racing
Sunday racing from the Kumeu Community Hall in the picturesque West Auckland country side. With the option of a number of race circuits to suit the riding requirements of all club members. Races can be a road circuit, time trial, hill climbs or a 3 stage event. Race registration is usually at 9.00 am at the hall, with a 9.30 am start.
